Beans Revisited - Cheesy Sausage Roll

This Bean is not edible. It is actually the name of my former eatery - Beans Dessert Kitchen. I will be running a few recipes from the menu. Yes, trying hard to relive the glory days! So if you are interested, watch out for "Beans".

This is no special recipe and is easily available but surprisingly, it is quite popular especially with the kids. It shows that sometimes going ordinary is the best. It can also be stored in the freezer until needed.

This is sinfully easy to prepare. All you need is to assemble some readily available ingredients from your common local grocery store, then fry. Trust me, your kids will love you.

Makes 4 pieces

Ingredients

2 pieces sausage, room temperature
2 slices of bread
1 slice of sandwich cheese, cut into 2
cooked starch

Cooking Instructions

1. Cut the crust off the bread. Flatten the bread with a rolling pin.

2. Put a slice of cheese on one end of the bread . Then add one sausage on top.

3. Roll flatten bread. Add a little cooked starch at the end to glue up the roll.

4. Heat oil up. Test using a chopstick. If there are bubbles, add rolls in. Cook in moderate fire until the sausages inside are cooked. Remove and drain oil.

5. Cut the ends of the roll. Then cut diagonally into half. Plate and serve.

Note:
1. You have to reduce heat and cook longer if roll is frozen so that the sausage inside is cooked thoroughly before the crust gets too brown. Increase heat when you are about to remove to prevent roll from being too oily.
2. This recipe can also be fried in breadcrumbs. Should you want to do so, dip the rolls in lightly whisked eggs and then in breadcrumb before putting into hot oil.
